Would you want to live in a world filled entirely with YOUs?

isolated-alphabet-u-on-rays-background_Gkc6fbYO_LOkay, I know yous isn’t a word but please bear with me for a moment. Would you want the world to be filled by clones of you? People that look, think, react, create just how you would?

I would not want to live in a universe of MEs – that is for certain. What a boring existence!

MOMD and I have been watching a show on Netflix called Extreme Homes. I know we are late to the party on this one but it takes us a while to catch up on some things. The thing we decided that we like about this show is the creativity involved. We have not seen very many homes that we would want to actually call our own but it is fascinating to see the ideas people think up and then build! Sometimes we laugh out loud, look at each other and exclaim, “How do people come up with this stuff?” Homes built in trees or on cliffs or residences that have an amusement park at the center.

These homeowners aren’t hurting anyone with their (what I call) outrageous dwellings. They are taking a dream and turning it into a reality and apparently are very satisfied with the results. Most of them would probably find this seemingly ordinary home a little too mundane for their tastes and I am fine with that.

I enjoy the fact that this world is filled with people very different from me. It gives me a chance to learn about how others view life. I’m stretched and challenged and entertained by others. Frustrated by some. Amazed by still others.

Maybe you’ve heard the saying, “It takes all kinds to make the world go ’round”. I notice it is often said in a derogatory way, as if a world sameness would be a better way to have it.

I think not!

Today, I am thankful for uniqueness.
