Breakfast Is Served

Cup Of Freshly Brewed Coffee And Croissant On The TableBy now you have gathered that I know seemingly ordinary people that are anything but.

People that do things for other people with no expectation of praise.

They do what they do and others are the recipients of some great blessings.

One of my dearest friends is a nurse.  Not only does she do a job I can’t ever picture myself doing but she gets up REALLY REALLY early to do it.  Middle of the night early so she can do tests on machines before patients arrive.

The work is difficult. She doesn’t complain about it. I just ask her a bunch of questions, she responds and I figure out that she does a job I wouldn’t want at a time I wouldn’t want to do it.

I was having a phone conversation with her and she casually mentioned that she had been awake since 2 or 2:30 am.

You know me.

I had to ask WHY in the world she was up at that time.

“Oh, I made breakfast for my co-workers,” was her response.

She did a CPR course yesterday morning and then spent the rest of the day preparing a breakfast FEAST for her colleagues.  We are not talking instant oatmeal here.

When I asked pestered for more details she explained the different items she made.  It was a brunch bonanza of epic proportions.  Especially considering she spent yesterday prepping and THEN got up in the middle of the night to bakes it all.

This is impressive.  She used time, energy and resources to prepare food for people she sees every day.

What a kind caring way to show she values her co-workers!

It’s creative and practical.

I like it.
