Delayed Again_Thankful Thursday

thanksgiving-day_10065489-031914Late again!

In life I am usually a punctual person.  When it comes to traveling or socializing I am often early.  Once again I find that I’m posting my Thankful Thursday post on Friday.

How can this be?

I’ve put a lot of thought into the reasons for my tardiness.

  1. I don’t have enough margins built into my life.
  2. Too much time was spent scrubbing floors, windows, polishing silverware and creating lovely centerpieces for the Thanksgiving dinner so that the hooligans would be impressed.
  3. Food coma.

Margins

Like everyone we have had a lot going on this past year. Things that required attention and time, some of which are ongoing. Having said that I realize that allowing some time for the expected “unexpected” would come in handy around the holidays. The dishwasher needed replacing and the instillation is always more time consuming and difficult than an unsuspecting person is led to believe. Traffic this time of year in our area is ALWAYS terrible therefore it WILL take longer to get from point A to point B. Store lines are longer, aisles are more crowded. Things just take longer than one hopes.

Floor scrubbing

If you were at our home yesterday you know I may have stretched the truth lied about this reason. I do not remember the last time I cleaned our windows. The only centerpiece at yesterday’s event was the beanless bean dip made by one of the hooligans. Its not my job to impress the hooligans anyway.

That’s why HGTV exists.

Food Coma

I will neither confirm or deny the food coma excuse. Put yourself in my place. Were YOU in a food coma after your Thanksgiving Food Frenzy? I rest my case.

Happy belated Thanksgiving!
