My Thursday posts are Thankful Thursday. I deliberately think and write about one thing for which I am thankful. I invite you to do the same.
Each Thursday I write about a word that starts with a different letter of the alphabet. I started with Z and am working backwards.
My Thankful Thursday_I word is imagination. One definition for imagination that I found is the ability or gift of forming such conscious ideas or mental images especially for the purposes of artistic or intellectual creation.
Aren’t you thankful for imagination?
What comes to mind when you think of that word?
Perhaps Walt Disney or action hero figures.
Children playing with building blocks, singing or dancing.
Artists that create beautiful music, writings, paintings, tapestries, mime.
Doesn’t the teacher that spends hours creating lesson plans use imagination to see his/her students grow into something beyond that moment?
How about the young man or woman who dreams of becoming an astronaut and imagines exploring space? Aren’t you thankful for the individuals who have even considered that possibility and worked hard to achieve what was imagined hundreds of years ago?
As I thought of this post it came to me that it takes imagination to have hope in what looks like a hopeless situation. Whether it is a difficult relationship, financial ruin or any other broken dream if we can imagine that somehow it will improve we might just be able to take one more step…do one more right thing.
What are you thankful for today?
