A bowl of fluffy deliciousness

We eat popcorn almost every night.  I must admit that MOMD and I are kind of popcorn snobs.  We don’t eat bagged microwave popcorn (too much sodium) only eat white popcorn (not yellow) and cook it in the microwave.  Correction: he cooks it.

I sit in my lazy girl chair and wait for my large red bowl of popcorn to be delivered.

If our budget allowed for it we would buy Ladyfinger popcorn, from Iowa, BUT with the amount we consume something else would have to go-like insuring our vehicles.

MOMD is famous for his popcorn making skills. Family members (other than myself) request it. Friends of the hooligans request it.  Last weekend we took our popcorn making paraphernalia, including small sauce pan for melting butter, to some friends’ house_at their request.

Nutritional yeast flakes (whatever the heck they are) use to adorn our popcorn but recently the price has skyrocketed so a shake of Lawry’s seasoning salt is the final touch.

We like movie theater popcorn but since I go to the movies approximately once every 8-10 years we have to stave off the cravings another way-hence the MOMD special.

Some friends, who shall remain nameless, use to prepare popcorn in bacon grease. Unfortunately, I’m sure, the Surgeon General of the United States has declared this illegal. That being said it was without a doubt the best popcorn.  Ever.

When I was growing up we didn’t eat popcorn very often.

When we got popcorn, however, it was the wonderful, fantastic, fun to watch pop variety shown below.  The excitement was almost too much.  That giant bubble of steaming foil is truly a work of art.

I am thankful for popcorn.  Ordinary every day popcorn.

Sometimes it’s the little things in life.

Here is a little background. When I started writing this blog I decided to include a Thankful Thursday post every week.

In these posts I write about something seemingly ordinary for which I am thankful.

Thursday is not the only day I am thankful. There is nothing magical about Thursdays. When I started writing this blog I chose to write a weekly post about thankfulness and I chose Thankful Thursday because I liked the way it sounded.

I did not realize other people did Thankful Thursday posts.

Have you thought of anything ordinary that you are thankful for today?
