The first day of July will always hold a special place in my heart.
I hit the publish button for my first seemingly ordinary post on this blog July 1, 2014. Click here if you are interested in reading it. (Actually if you have a lot of extra time on your hands feel free to read any or all of the 454 previous posts. I go back and read them sometimes just to see if I still agree with myself).
The first year I missed one day. The second year I missed more days and this past year I have missed more than I’ve written.
Writing is not work for me but rather a way to sort through the craziness, the joy, the sorrows of life. I use it as a sifting process.
Sometimes I’m surprised by the silt that is revealed in my heart as I think about people or circumstances.
Stories retold remind me of the blessings I’ve received. Sometimes the blessings didn’t feel like blessings at the time. (Frankly, some still don’t feel like blessings).`
Thank you for the kind comments, the times you’ve shared a post or mentioned it on Facebook. I know you have prayed for the ill, the widowed and the hurting that I have mentioned.
I have tried to give you an honest glimpse of the hooligans but I must be careful at the same time. As the saying goes, they may be the ones to choose my assisted living situation some day. You have just a small glimpse of my wonderful supportive husband, MOMD (Man of My Dreams).
So many future posts are swirling in my head, even as I type. I have vacation stories, seemingly ordinary people stories and even a tale or two about bowling.
Not one person reading this post is ordinary. If you were able to smile at a stranger or bake a meal for a loved one or pray for someone in need then you did something potentially life-changing today.
Thank you for reading! I’d hug you if I could.
